17,7 MWe Cogeneration Power Plants At Psyttalia
Waste Water Treatment Plant

Of Athens Water Supply & Sewerage Company (Ε.ΥD.Α.P.) S.A.

The project consists of two stations: The first station concerns the installation of an electrical and thermal cogeneration plant, including one gas turbine – generator set using natural gas fuel, with electrical power output about 12.9 MWe and thermal power output about 17 MWth. The second station concerns the installation of an electrical and thermal cogeneration plant, including two gas engine – generator sets using biogas fuel, with electrical power output about 4.8 MWe. The produced electrical power of both plants will supply the electrical loads of Psyttalia electrical network (2nd phase), while the surplus electric energy will be sold to Hellenic Transmission System Operator (HTSO). The produced thermal power of the first plant will be distributed to the desiccation plant, while the produced thermal power of the second plant will be distributed to the digested sludge storage tanks (digesters) of Psyttalia WWTP.
